Thickness and elevation maps for the North Polar Layered Deposits of Mars

SHARAD NPLD thickness and elevation maps

With several other SHARAD Team Members, I published an article in Icarus (Putzig et al., 2009) detailing results from mapping the interior structure on the North Polar Layered Deposits (NPLD), located in Planum Boreum on Mars. Thickness and elevation maps (at right) for the interior units and the entirety of the NPLD were presented in two figures within the article.

Thermal inertia and albedo maps of Mars

MGS-TES albedo for Mars Year 26

As part of my dissertation work with Mike Mellon at the University of Colorado, I produced global maps of apparent thermal inertia and albedo (examples at right) using data from the Mars Global Surveyor Thermal Emission Spectrometer. The maps were published in Icarus (Putzig and Mellon, 2007).
